A New Chapter for Apsley Estate & Marina, Hemel Hempstead (HP1)

Since early 2023, we have been proud to support the block and estate management of Apsley Marina in Hemel Hempstead (HP1), working closely with residents and stakeholders to deliver a more proactive and responsive management approach.


Apsley Marina is a vibrant mixed-use development comprising over 444 Houses, Apartments, and Commercial premises, set across a spacious waterside estate overlooking the Grand Union Canal, with excellent transport links into London.


At the heart of the estate lies its modern marina. An attractive focal point surrounded by independent bars, restaurants, and a welcoming community atmosphere. The area is popular for waterside walks, with scenic routes stretching along the canal towards Cowroast Marina and Packet Boat Marina, offering a unique blend of town and countryside living.



The name “Apsley” itself dates back to the Anglo-Saxon period, meaning “aspen wood,”. The development was originally built by Fairview Homes.


The estate operates through three separate Resident Management Companies and involves over five independent landlords. Acting on behalf of the Resident Management Companies, we oversee the day-to-day management of the estate and have worked collaboratively with residents to deliver a number of key improvements.


These include a full internal redecoration programme across 17 residential blocks, a renewed focus on fire safety and compliance, and the stabilisation of suppliers, financial management and bookkeeping following a period of underperformance by a previous managing agent.


Collectively, these efforts have resulted in meaningful cost savings across the service charge and a more transparent, well-managed estate.
